MA Fashion

This project explores the role of the designer as an ornamentor using embroidery as a method to discuss sustainability in fashion. My aim was to question if embroidery could be a tool be reconnect the different particles of the fashion system. Through practice I have analysed decorative and functional stitches, to combine traditional embroidery from Ecuador and Japan. With this project I used my hands to make connections between, maker, wearer – craftsmanship, clothing, upcycling and the previous lives of the second hand denim garments sourced to make jumpsuits.
