Nicholas O’Donnell-Hoare (MA Design Critical Practice 2010)
Nicholas has a background in Craft and Jewellery design. His current work explores ways that we can create and implement technologies with the ability to disrupt modern human flow, or current systems that contribute to unsustainable living.
For some time now a significant number of experts have advocated a shift towards more sustainable ways of living and being, however there has been little practical progress in this direction. The way we act as a civilisation is impacting our environment in negative ways. We depend on our environment’s health, and with emerging understanding of disruptive technologies, in collaboration with design and motivational psychology, this research may be able to provide some solutions and a pathway for motivating people to live in more sustainable ways.
