MA Design Critical Practice
Multi-functional designs always attract people’s interest, but does the extra function really help our life? By adding extra function, instead of having double benefits, sometimes result as zero. For this project, I create a series of objects by giving basic clothes and accessories extra functions, to solve three problems that modern people have — lack of time, space and money. Those extra functions seem to be useful and smart, but have completely no usability in our life, in the end it come with a zero result, even make them lost original purposes. Through this project, I want to point out the gap between imaging and reality, and drive both designers and customers to rethink the importance of practical using experience.
